What is Session Colors?
Understanding where the market’s key liquidity sessions begin and end is vital for almost any intraday strategy. Session Colors makes this visually effortless by performing two essential functions:
Session Shading: It automatically highlights the background of your chart during specific hours (e.g., London Session, NY Session), giving you an instant visual reference for the active market.
Dynamic Range Mapping: It draws precise horizontal lines at the high and low of the defined session. These lines span the entire duration of that session, allowing you to clearly see the trading range for that specific time block.
Simple Setup & Configuration
We designed Session Colors to be intuitive and adaptable to any setup. To ensure the indicator aligns perfectly with global markets, please keep these two setting tips in mind:
24-Hour Integer Format: When entering your session times, use the 24-hour format without colons. For example, if a session starts at 1:00 PM, you would enter 1300.
Exchange Time Synchronization: The indicator uses Exchange Time for its calculations. This ensures consistency regardless of where you are located. For example, if you are trading the NYSE from the Pacific Time Zone, you would still enter the New York open as 0930 and the close as 1600.
Key Features
Up to 4 Custom Sessions: Track the four main global sessions or define your own custom windows (like the "Power Hour" or Opening Range).
Toggle Sessions: Each of the four sessions can be enabled or disabled independently.
Total Color Control: Every session’s background shading and high/low lines are fully customizable to match your chart theme.

Spot Key Breakouts: Many strategies focus on breakouts of the Asia or London ranges. This indicator frames those ranges automatically.

Each session is highlighted with a different color. Also notice the high and low of each session is clearly visible.
Note: The image above shows 2 sessions but you can completely customize up to 4 sessions with their own background colors, high/low colors, as well as any desired start and end times.
